The key to success in the business world isn’t just about the product, it’s about the people. The more you know about your customers, the better you can sell to them.
Successful sales professionals are able to sell not only their products and services but themselves as well. They are able to build relationships with their customers and prospects by understanding their needs and wants.
Here are 5 amazing ways to sell your digital products or services.
1. People will buy YOU more than they buy your product.
If People Like You, They’re more interested in buying from you. In fact, they are willing to decline other offers that are better, just because they like you and your personality.
Does it sound weird?
But this is true.
Your customers don’t care how much you know they care how much you care.
Here’s how to get your customers to like you.
- Don’t make a promise you can’t keep.
- Always deliver over than your promise.
- Educate/advise your customers, this will establish your authority.
- Focus on content creation. When you create content you show your authority in your domain. This will ultimately help you acquire new customers and retain your existing customers.
You can convert your customer anyway but the only way to retain them is to give them results.
As long as you keep updating yourself you will remain relevant in your niche and eventually you can provide better results to your customers.
2. Buyers focus on the perceived value, more than the actual price.
Everything and anything can be expensive
And cheaper for different people.
Person A hates football: a shirt signed by Messi holds no value to him.
Person B likes football: and is willing to pay $10,000 for the same shirt.
The right offer for the wrong audience won’t help you get a sale. You have to understand what you are offering and to whom?
Maruti Suzuki launched Nexa because they understand that their premium segment cars will have to be positioned differently.
So they create a new brand for its premium segment, Nexa.
They understand that Maruti Suzuki’s audience will not pay for premium segment cars and it will create a struggle to target the right audience and make them aware of premium cars by Maruti Suzuki.
But the new brand Nexa has a different set of audiences, now they can easily understand what will be the value to them.
We often make the same mistakes when setting a price. You will automatically be concerned about pricing when your focus is on sales and you will be more concerned about value when your focus is changing the experience or enhancing the customer’s lifestyle.
Your customer will keep negotiating with you while you keep talking about pricing. Always talk about what value you are providing and how it can change their lives.
You will see the magic of the value proposition.
3. Treat sales, like you would treat dating.
If you know he/she won’t marry you on the First date.. then why would you propose? In the first meeting?
There is a process that works from dating to the end result. Similarly, you have to understand the customer journey cycle.
You can’t pitch your audience to buy your products or services in the first meeting you need to build a relationship and understand what they need.
Give them some value (like gifts in dating) to build trust and then you can come up with the right offer at the right time.
Look for someone who is a good fit for you, don’t cling to people who don’t get your service. Sell yourself as much as you sell your product and create value for your audience.
Your job is to match your product with the right buyers. This will help you convert leads to customers.
Unlike dating, you will find customer referrals here. 🙂
4. At least 5O% of the people you speak with, are not a good fit for your service.
Yes, rejection is natural. Mostly because not everyone will fit the criteria for working with you. please accept!
To sell more, you need to connect with more people.
Build an email list and keep nurturing them by offering free values. You will start by segmenting the audience based on behavior and then tailor your marketing messages according to the traffic temperature.
Sales aren’t just what you say, it’s how you say it.
Your job is to make sure that the people you talk to are a good fit for your service.
5. Sale is a combination of other skills.
If you want to make more money, sell better and be a great salesperson: Selling is a must-have skill. Actually, everyone is selling something to someone or the other.
Have you seen a mother asking her child to eat food? When a mother is convincing her child for food, she is pitching the best sales.
Even on the job, you sell your time and skills every day.
Don’t hesitate to sell. You have to sell anyway.
Here are some important skills any salesperson should have.
- Learn Psychology
- Practice Empathy
- Become confident
- Study persuasion
- Increase charisma
- Communicate well
